The narrow strip of the earth filled in with the sun at the warm sea from Cape Ajja to Alushty is and there is a Southern coast of Crimea. It is extensive enough territory in the extent about 70 kilometres of the most fertile shore from Gurzuf located at bottom of mountain Aju-Dag, to cape Laspi. And almost in the centre of this strip, on the bank of an open deep-water bay the city the Big Yalta was stretched on picturesque slopes of mountains.

Mountains and the sea make essential impact on a climate of Yalta. Mountains protect it from cold air streams from the north, the northeast and the northwest. The sea, being a powerful regulator of heat during winter time, warms its warm breath, and in hot summer days moderates burdensome heat.
In a warm season, in the afternoon winds (breezes) blow from the sea, by the evening – from mountains towards the sea.

The warm coastal breeze informs from mountains hardly an audible smell of needles. The grass all year long turns green and something blossoms.

Poets not without reason name Yalta the beauty, “pearl” of Southern coast of Crimea. Boundless sea breadth becomes blue, breathes freshness, excites with open space. Ashore, among bright subtropical greens, houses and streets,  palaces  beautifully appear.
